CUDA Tile

CUDA Tile is a programming model that expresses computation over tiles of values. Its compiler maps tile operations onto supported NVIDIA execution and memory resources.

How it works

The abstraction makes a tile operation the author’s unit of work rather than requiring every operation to be manually assigned to threads. CUDA Tile, Tile IR and a language frontend such as cuTile Python occupy different layers of that stack.

Work through an example

A tile kernel can express loading a region of an array and multiplying tiles. The compiler chooses lower-level implementation details within the model’s constraints; performance still depends on shapes, layout and supported targets.

Where the term can mislead

CUDA Tile and CuTe DSL are separate projects. Their APIs and support matrices must be checked independently. Experimental frontends, including cuTile BASIC, are not a substitute for production support evidence.
